An introduction to woodlice, centipedes and millipedes – Dr Duncan Sivell, NHM.

This is an introduction to recognising and identifying these three groups of invertebrates, which are often found together and can be recorded during the winter. This workshop will focus on the important morphological characters of these three taxa, discuss their ecology, highlight some common species and advise on resources for further study.

Duncan Sivell manages the Diptera Section at the Natural History Museum and is chair of the British Myriapod and Isopod Group. Duncan has been studying or working with invertebrates for almost 30 years, and for the past 15 years he has had a particular interest in British woodlice, centipedes and millipedes.

Whilst there is no charge for our workshop, nor any need to be a member, by joining you ensure these workshop can continue to be offered.
